"We wanted employees to have a clear dashboard and overview of their equity, as well as being able to access all their documents in one place, and Ledgy absolutely met these needs for us."

About Legend
Legend is a digital media company focused on gaming, sports, and personal finance. Founded in 2004, its global team of over 600 employees sits at the heart of the company.
In 2026, Legend was acquired. With multiple equity plans, employees across different locations, and months of due diligence ahead, the company needed a clear and reliable way to manage its equity throughout the deal.
By choosing Ledgy prior to the acquisition, Legend already had a centralised hub in place for equity plans, documentation, and employee records when the transaction began.
Challenge: Managing equity across a global team
Before Ledgy, Legend wasn’t using an equity management platform. Managing equity was therefore a highly manual process, made more complex by the company’s global workforce and different types of equity. Legend needed to manage both phantom units and option plans, which meant keeping track of different agreements alongside information held across multiple HR systems.

The team also needed a better way to give employees access to their equity information and documentation. As Legend prepared for its acquisition, that need became even more important. The company needed to be able to understand its equity position quickly and give employees clear information about what was happening.
During due diligence, legal stakeholders and advisors needed to inspect everything from equity plan details and transaction histories to individual participant records and historical reports. Legend needed to respond to those requests quickly, without having to piece together information from different sources.
Solution: A central place for Legend’s equity
Legend chose Ledgy because it met the practical requirements the team had for managing equity across the business.
The first was giving employees a clear dashboard where they could see their equity and access their documents in one place. Legend also needed the platform to integrate with multiple HR systems, as well as DocuSign, which the company already used.
That meant employee and director signatures could be collated alongside the relevant equity documentation, reducing the manual work involved in managing agreements.

When the acquisition began, that setup gave Legend a clear view of its equity programme and the information behind it. The team could access plan details, transaction histories, participant records and historical reports as questions came in from legal stakeholders and advisors.

For the Legend team, having that information together meant they could spend less time looking for records and more time responding to the requirements of the transaction.
Result: Equity due diligence made easier during the acquisition
By the time Legend entered due diligence, its equity information was already organised and accessible. The team had a clear snapshot of its equity plans and could access the information needed throughout the transaction.
The same information also helped Legend communicate with employees. The team could use the platform to give employees a clear view of their equity.

For a transaction that involved several months of due diligence, being able to quickly access equity information and respond to questions made one part of the process much easier to manage.
Looking back, the difference was particularly clear when compared with the alternative. Having gone through the acquisition, the thought of managing the same process manually was difficult to imagine.
“If we hadn’t selected Ledgy to be our partner for all of our equity plans, the thought of having to use Excel spreadsheets and manually managing things fills me with complete dread, having just been through the transaction that we went through earlier in the year.”
